12 for 12 February

I am trying to be a little more on top of things this month  :)  So only a few days late, here is my 12 for 12!  We didn't do much all day, but it was beautiful and we were babysitting a friends little boy, so we went to the park!

12 for 12

I took on a little thing some friends in Salt Lake are doing called 12 for 12.  Basically, for those of us that can't, won't, forget, are too lazy, etc. to take a picture every day of the year, you take 12 pictures on the 12th of each month.  This is ti kind of document a typical day that month.  My first month isn't too exciting, I was sick so they are mostly taken around the house....which I guess does document January since I was sick most of the month.  Also, the pictures are pretty bad because I was too lazy to find a good camera, so I used my phone.  Hopefully Feb will be better!  But here is Jan 12, 2011!!  (and yes, Mason usually has to change outfits that much....)

Christmas.....A month and a half late.....

I know this is SOOOO late, but I do want to document Mason's first Christmas, even if it was a bit crazy. Christmas Eve was mostly spent loading up our Uhaul (THANK YOU everyone who helped with our move, we couldn't have done it without you!!!), then we drove away from our home for the last 7 months to my parents house to celebrate the season. Fun was had by all of course. Audrey and Mason still don't really get it, but it was still a lot of fun.

Mason was spoiled of course, even if he doesn't realize it. Megablox, a Megablox table, new jackets, a tent, "tools" and he even got a new Burley bike trailer so he can tag along with dad on those bike rides.

After a couple of hours in the morning we set out for our drive to our new home. It took us awhile with the Uhaul, but after ten hours we finally made it to Reno to stay with the Hill clan for the night. Mason had a lot of fun playing with cousin Ben, who taught him how to use a light saber (sorry, I filmed this sideways).

The next day the normally 2 hour drive took 4.5 because of all the snow through Donner Pass. But we finally made it late Sunday night and moved our stuff into our new apartment. Whew! What a Christmas!!!

Oh yes,  and also, because I don't want to be in an apartment very long, I also got Mason a drum set for Christmas. :)  He loves it.

Our New Home

This is where we now live. I am still trying to get used to it. And it has been cold. I mean, cold! If I have to live in cold, I want snow. But whatever, everyone says it has been uncharacteristically cold. So hopefully it warms up soon. I constantly have Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues" running through my head. In fact we went to the Folsom Prison Museum last weekend. It was very interesting. Chris loved it.

I know I have been a blogging lackey, but it has been crazy with moving. I promise to update with some pictures from Mason's first Christmas. I know you are all dying to see them! Ha ha ha.

Dr. Suess

I am very sad that we are moving. Oh yeah everyone, we are moving. Yuck! I love it here and didn't want to leave. Especially since we were only here 7 months. I love our house. It is a duplex, but it is just so great! (Anyone need to rent an ultra cool place by Big Cottonwood?) One of my favorite things was decorating Mason's nursery, since we didn't have a room for him before we moved here. I wanted to do Dr. Seuss since before he was born, so it was a lot of fun decorating. I took some pictures so I can remember everything since we are moving into a small apartment when we get to California, and who knows when we will get into a house so I can decorate his Dr. Seuss room and bathroom again. Here are the pics (Sorry they aren't the best, there were a lot of shadows...):

Side of room: Crib and some great pictures. We made the pictures from giant puzzles we found at Borders for $3, then just glued them and put them in a cheap black poster frame.

I love Mason's crib. I found it and the matching changing table on Craigslist for REALLY cheap in Houston. I miss Houston craigslist..... Anyway, we got these cute Seuss stuffed animals for $5 each at Kohls. You can also get the matching book for another $5. That is a pretty good deal for Seuss stuff. And yes, I have ALMOST every Seuss book. I love reading them to Mason.

I did a close up of the sheets because they are so cute. I got the sheets, bumper and quilt at Pottery Barn kids for 60% off. SCORE!!

I know this picture is horrible, but my glider also gets some cute Seuss dolls in the other corner. :)

The other wall also has some cute pics we made above the changing table. Except, now that Mason is moving around and exploring more he likes to sit up and try to pull the pictures down while he is getting his diaper changed. They may have to go higher next time.

My WONDERFUL, BEAUTIFUL, FUN etc, etc. Friend Nicole found this Horton Clock for me. :) It is just above the glider. (We miss you Nicole)

Another Shadowy picture, but I love this quote for his room, it is by the door when you walk in. If I owned my house, there would be painted truffula trees everywhere, but alas, maybe the next house....

Next Mason's bathroom. This pics are really horrible, I need a wide lens....Anyway, you get the gist. Another great quote for a little guy, and can you see the awesome Cat in the Hat in the Mirror?

I got this bath rug at Pottery Barn also. So cute.

Here is another pic of the Cat. The Red, white and Turquoise towels are usually hanging below him on the towel rack. But someone (ahem, Chris) Broke it. So right now they are hanging on the shower door.

Well, that is it. Hopefully I will get to set it all up again soon!!!! Everyone cross your fingers I am not in a tiny apartment for long!!!
